What type of receivers practice yous have? I am testing it here on a 211k just I know my 722k and 922 take information technology set up for 8 hours and I never have a problem with it going into stand-by early on.

the DISH box is going to standby so the TIVO now can not modify the channels IE the tivo recordings are null only the black screen saying your dish box is in standby printing select to go along crap.

When is the receiver going into Standby? If it's overnight, it happens when the receiver reboots after updates.

Yes, y'all can fix a timer which will plough the receiver back on after a reboot. Just set the timer to automobile-tune the channel you desire information technology to be on. If yous somehow manage to gear up an car-tune timer to a channel that doesn't exist, I think the receiver comes on and tunes to 101. (Could be wrong about that.)

Endeavor setting the inactivity to 8 hours. I just changed my TV2 tuner on my 722 to Disable. Tuner 1 is set for eight hours. I'll come across what happens.

Yeah, the receiver needs to reboot overnight. This is to and so it can download the epg and any software upgrades.

Why not prepare a corresponding car-tune timer on the Dish receiver for each Tivo timer?

Also, how are you hooking up your Tivo to your Dish receiver? I idea Tivo receivers didn't have line inputs. Are y'all only using the TV2 coax distribution and "tuning" it on the Tivo equally an analog antenna/cable channel?

Our tivo has line inputs (series 2) with the ir dongle to control the dish box (I miss the former straight goggle box boxes with the series connection)

the reason that won't work is we don't user timers. Tivo'southward record dynamically ie intelligently. you don't option times you pick "programs" and information technology finds them "whenever" they are on and records them. handle disharmonize resolutions etc..

nosotros THINK we might take information technology setup.

for some reason (I tin not even GUESS why) its obeying the disable control at present. and nosotros programmed a 0400 timer for the western channel (if at that place is a tivo recording for that early its most probable to be that channel) to hopefully wake it back up at 4am.

we shall see what happens. its astonishing how stupid the dish boxes function. I guess they are trying to force people to utilise their rather expensive DVR's. why the box needs to reboot every day is insane and why it won't plow dorsum on to the aforementioned channel it was on when information technology turned off is insane.

what a hurting :)

A Pain indeed! I just switched to dish a calendar month ago, we accept a DVR upstairs that powers ii bedrooms, but downstairs we use windows media heart with an xbox360 extender for DVR on the other ii TV's. If the Hopper had just i more than tuner!! why would y'all connect 4 TVs to a 3 tuner device anyway? So the motorcar update was resulting in many recordings of the dish screen saver on windows media center. I tried setting up an automobile tune timer on the Vip222k dish receiver for one-half an 60 minutes afterwards the time I set the daily automobile update to. This did nothing. I played with the timings a bit but could not become the dish receiver to plow dorsum on after the update... lots of recordings of that black screen saver with the bouncing dish logo and helpful hints". So I and then edited the aqueduct change settings in WMC to include the "select central". Unfortunately You can not edit this feature to send the "select" command earlier the channel number, it occurs afterward and this would mean the starting time recording later on the update would happen on some random channel instead of the one it is supposed to. And then I then set upwards a manual recording in WMC for similar three minutes on some random channel nearly half an hour after the auto update just to become that select command sent autonomously. I will accept one trash recording to delete everyday but it will not take up much infinite. You should be able to accomplish something similar on a Tivo... hope this helps.

(low-cal bulb! I can set the settings for this particular transmission recording to only keep i episode, so no pile upward of trash recordings I am so smart)

Not the same situation, simply with both our 211s we take the the number of hours before receiver goes into standby gear up to disable but both continue to become to standby with no activity. My married woman has been watching the Olympics since this morning time and said its trying to become into standby. Just because nosotros have not changed the channel for hours doesnt hateful its inactive. Actually annoying to not be able to control this.

WHY REOPEN A 4 Year OLD POST? Utilise your caput if you know the receiver needs to show action change channels during a commercial. Channel up and downward tin't have more than a minute and will reset the inactivity timer.
